Olea Medical

Olea Medical®, a provider of advanced MR and CT perfusion imaging post-processing, designs and markets innovative medical imaging applications significantly improving diagnostic processes and treatment evaluation. Olea Medical creates algorithms and the core component of all Olea Medical products is mathematical. Layers of computer science and ingenuity are used to package this math in the most accessible and understandable way possible. The combination of OLEA’s advanced algorithms and their packaging results in increased confidence in diagnosis of disease, which in turn results in better medical care.

Olea Medical has gained recognition over the years as the leader in advanced post-processing applications for stroke and oncology. A pioneer in Bayesian methods applied to medical imaging post-processing, OLEA has already revolutionized perfusion imaging post-processing with real-time, powerful and accurate algorithms for clinical use, in both oncology and stroke diagnosis and therapeutic follow-up. On top of this, OLEA offers standardized (vendor-agnostic and multi-platform compliant) advanced post-processing applications, with dedicated workflows for each organ and pathology.

Key Staff

Timothé Boutelier, PhD, is is Director of Research and Innovation at Olea Medical and is an expert in Bayesian mathematics and is skilled in mathematical modelling and complex problem solving applied to signal postprocessing, medical imaging, medical devices, biomedical engineering, software engineering, physics, software development (C, C++), and Matlab. He is the author and coauthor of multiple scientific papers in peer-reviewed and medico-marketing publications, and lectures in workshops. At Olea Medical, Timothé Boutelier has developed and validated advanced mathematical models based on Bayesian algorithms for multiple MR sequences, such as perfusion, diffusion, IVIM, etc.

Timothé Boutelier will be in charge of coordination the research on algorithm development within the GLINT project. In this respect, he and his team will put together a full library of mathematical tools and deliver the Matlab prototype for testing and validation in collaboration with clinical partners within the consortium. He will have the responsibility of fundamental research on algorithms and pharmacokinetic models to be applied within the project. The choice of models and algorithms will be an essential component of the project, since accuracy and speed of postprocessing are highly dependent on this choice.
